Xavi Simons whereabouts revealed as Tottenham and Chelsea transfer winner to be named
Tottenham have just days remaining to strengthen in attacking midfield, and are now targeting RB Leipzig star Xavi Simons.
Spurs failed in attempts to sign Eberechi Eze and Morgan Gibbs-White, and urgently need to strengthen the position following key injuries.
Simons emerged as a Tottenham target recently, despite the Dutchman seemingly agreeing personal terms with Chelsea, but the Lilywhites have entered the race to sign him.
There has now been a significant update regarding Simons’ future, and it could be one which benefits Tottenham.

Xavi Simons in London as Tottenham step up interest
With less than five days remaining in the transfer window, Simons has yet to decide his next destination, but he is now in London, with a clear indication that he will end up at one of the clubs there.
It has been reported by Matt Law of The Telegraph that with Simons in London, Tottenham are keen but Chelsea have not left the race.
- Simons can play on both wings and in attacking midfield, and has shone for PSV Eindhoven and RB Leipzig since leaving Paris Saint-Germain.
- The 22-year-old has scored 22 goals and provided 24 assists in 78 games for Leipzig.
It now appears to be a straight battle between Chelsea and Tottenham for Simons, with one of them almost certain to land the Netherlands International.
Spurs have endured several rejections in this transfer window, but they may have one advantage over Chelsea this time.
Tottenham can offer Xavi Simons more minutes than Chelsea
While Chelsea can likely present a better financial package, they have already added Jamie Gittens and Estevao Willian to a squad with Pedro Neto and Cole Palmer, and they could also be joined by Man United’s Alejandro Garnacho at Chelsea.
With everyone fit, Simons may end up behind Palmer as a number 10, or behind Neto and Garnacho on the wings.
At Tottenham, with James Maddison and Dejan Kulusevski out with long-term injuries, Simons would regularly start as an attacking midfielder and a key player, and when they eventually return, he could even move to the left wing if desired.
Spurs could use this to their advantage in negotiations for Simons, and should he be tempted by more regular minutes, they could finally secure a level-raising signing after weeks of frustration.
