What Cesc Fabregas has said about Nico Paz as Tottenham submit mega bid

Tottenham have expressed plenty of interest in Como midfielder Nico Paz this summer.

Thomas Frank is keen to add the young star to his ranks after Tottenham missed out on targets such as Eberechi Eze.

Como only signed the 20-year-old for £5million last summer, and throughout the season, his performances and value shot up.

Tottenham are keeping tabs on Paz after missing out on Morgan Gibbs-White earlier in the summer, and their old rival and Como manager, Cesc Fabregas, has already reacted to the possible transfer.

Nico Paz ‘very happy’ at Como says Cesc Fabregas

Tottenham have had a £60m bid for Paz rejected by Como, but will be expected to return with an improved offer.

So far, Frank hasn’t had much luck in the transfer window after Spurs signed Mohammed Kudus for £55million from West Ham, and things aren’t looking like they’re going their way with Paz, either.

Shared by Fabrizio Romano on X, when Fabregas was asked about Paz’s future, he said: “I’m very calm and relaxed, Nico is very happy here at Como. He’s a top, top player”.

Fabregas’ comments don’t give much hope that the Argentine is keen on a move away, and his willingness to switch Real Madrid for Como shows that he prioritises career progression over money.

Real Madrid hold a 50 per cent sell-on clause on the star, as well as a buy-back clause, meaning a transfer is still difficult to complete, and more expensive than Eze.

Tottenham’s hierarchy want to “make amends” after failing with Eze, and should Spurs continue to slightly up their bids, Como could be convinced to let go of their prized asset.

Nico Paz could join list of players Tottenham have missed out on

On the pitch, things are going really well for Frank, with two wins from two in the Premier League.

However, off it, the Lilywhites are struggling to sign their main targets, and Paz could be the latest to turn them down.

Missed targets so far:

With just one week left of the summer transfer window, Daniel Levy needs to step up and convince players to relocate to North London rather than elsewhere.
