Transfer fee and significant bonuses agreed for Tottenham-linked wonderkid to complete move

Thomas Frank is already preparing for Tottenham’s upcoming January transfer window despite their good start to the season.

Spurs oversaw an active summer window, with numerous big stars coming through the door.

The signing of Mohammed Kudus has proved to be masterful at Tottenham so far, with the winger having an excellent start to the season.

However, ensuring the North London club have players for the future is also important, with Frank eyeing stars from the upcoming generation.

Newcastle set to win race for Josh Kenchington

Going into January, Tottenham were in the race for Barnsley’s Josh Kenchington

Compared to the likes of John Stones, the defender is highly rated, and is a current England Under 15s international.

However, it appears Spurs are set to miss out on the signing, with Newcastle now having a bid accepted for Kenchington.

According to Sky Sports on 17 October, the Magpies have agreed to pay £350,000 plus significant bonuses ahead of the move.

As a result, on top of Tottenham, Manchester United and Brighton are also set to miss out on the signing, with Newcastle waiting for the clearance of Premier League family checks to complete the deal.

Missing out on Kenchington not a huge loss

While Kenchington could end up being a superstar, Tottenham currently have plenty of young defenders with high potential.

The most obvious is Luka Vuskovic, who has had a stunning start to life at Hamburg on loan.

With the Croatia international just being 18 years old, it is clear that he could be in Spurs’ first team for years if he continues this trajectory.

However, the task for Frank is to ensure Vuskovic, alongside many of Tottenham’s other talents, reach their potential in the coming years.
