Tottenham talks held as surprise Timber transfer lined up

Tottenham are eyeing up a move for Quinten Timber ahead of the upcoming transfer window, according to Football Transfers.

The outlet reported that Spurs are keen to sign the midfielder, who is expected to leave Feyenoord in the January or summer transfer window.

It is said that Ange Postecoglou is willing to let go of Yves Bissouma in order to make space for the player, who is the younger brother of Jurrien Timber who plays for Arsenal.

There have already been discussions between the Spurs boss and technical director Johan Lange over new deals in the January transfer window.

Quinten Timber could be a great addition at Tottenham

The 23-year-old has shown lots of promise so far as he is already captain at Feyenoord and has been impactful with four goals in 14 league appearances.

With the Lilywhites struggling to produce consistent performances this season, a confident and able midfielder could be exactly what they need to improve, especially given the fact that supporters haven’t been impressed with Bissouma so far this term.

The fact that the youngster’s brother plays for rivals Arsenal shouldn’t worry supporters as the pair previously played for Feyenoord and Ajax in the Netherlands, showing family rivalry on the pitch would not stand in the way of a potential move.

What should be more of a concern, however, are the reports that Liverpool are also interested in signing the promising player.

Timber previously played under Arne Slot and this was a time of big development in his game, which could make a reunion between the pair a tempting offer.

Nevertheless, it is pleasing to see Postecoglou looking at the market, aware of the additions he requires to improve his side this term.

In other Tottenham news, after an update on Ange Postecoglou at Spurs, Daniel Levy has been told to hire Massimiliano Allegri.
