Tottenham take big step towards next new signing after Conor Gallagher
Thomas Frank is in dire need of quick improvements to his Tottenham squad during the January transfer window.
Spurs sit 14th in the Premier League table, and the sack pressure is building on Frank, as he continues to underwhelm in North London.
However, there are some positives, with Tottenham set to complete the signing of Conor Gallagher from Atletico Madrid in the next few days.
The former Chelsea midfielder is expected to come in for £34million, and the Lilywhites are already moving on to their next target.
Tottenham receive boost in Maghnes Akliouche race
Tottenham have previously held a strong interest in Monaco winger Maghnes Akliouche, trying to sign him last summer.
However, Frank’s side didn’t manage to get a deal over the line for the 23-year-old, who instead remained with the Ligue 1 outfit.
Akliouche was incredibly impressive as Tottenham drew 0-0 with Monaco in the Champions League back in October, so the North London side are acutely aware of the talent he possesses.
So far this term, he has scored three goals and picked up two assists in 16 league appearances.
According to Football.London, Tottenham are still tracking Akliouche, and Monaco are preparing replacements for the Frenchman, in case he leaves this month or in the summer.
It hints that Spurs could be in line to make another approach for the forward, as they look to improve their attacking ranks for the second half of the season.
Tottenham exit could make room for Maghnes Akliouche
While Tottenham explore the signing of an exciting new winger, one of their current wide men is being linked with an exit.
Mathys Tel is open to a move away from the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, due to a lack of game time in the first half of the season.
The 20-year-old only completed a permanent move from Bayern Munich over the summer, but has now caught the eye of Paris FC.
Tel would prefer to play as a number nine, and Paris can offer him that, but Spurs are currently blocking all enquiries for the Frenchman.
