Tottenham striker transfer: ‘Three targets offered’ after Kolo Muani setback
Tottenham Hotspur have set their sights on three alternative striker targets after missing out on Randal Kolo Muani, according to GiveMeSport.
The online outlet reported on 15 January that after Kolo Muani chose to sign for Juventus on loan from PSG [Fabrizio Romano, 14 January], Spurs have been offered the chance to sign Jonathan David, Evann Guessand and Rayan Cherki.
Kolo Muani’s snubbing leaves the Lilywhites still firmly on the hunt for a new striker before 3 February, with David, Guessand and Cherki’s agents all offering their clients out on the open market this winter.
Spurs have a long-term interest in Lille’s number nine David, while his OGC Nice counterpart Guessand and Lyon winger Cherki both remain potential options as Ange Postecoglou looks to bolster his squad.
Tottenham face decision on new striker transfer in January
Although Richarlison made his long-awaited return from injury off the bench late in Spurs’ 2-1 North London Derby defeat to Arsenal on Wednesday (15 January), it’s clear they still require more firepower up front.
Dominic Solanke may have seven goals and three assists since his big-money move from Bournemouth, but the Lilywhites’ defensive frailties makes their attacking quality all the more important this season.

The injury crisis which has ripped through Postecoglou’s side this season has been largely focused at the rear of the team, but missing the likes of Richarlison has also seen them suffer in attack.
Adding a new striker in the winter window could prove to be transformational in Spurs’ bid to fire themselves up to the right end of the Premier League table, but they’ll need to hit the ground running.
It’s often hard to gauge whether a player’s form in Ligue 1 can be immediately translated to the English top flight, but with Spurs in desperate need of more goals, David, Guessand or Cherki could fit the bill.
In other Tottenham news, Spurs could still look to do business with PSG as one of several clubs keen on an out-of-favour star.
