Tottenham ready £69m Savinho bid as Thomas Frank sends clear message to Daniel Levy

Tottenham could be about to take a huge step forward in their bid to sign Savinho.

The Manchester City winger enjoyed a bright start to life in the Premier League last season, and Spurs are now looking to bring him to N17 in the final few weeks of the transfer window.

Tottenham have already had a bid for Savinho turned down, with Pep Guardiola’s side rejecting their initial offensive, which was worth around £45million.

The Citizens have been adamant that the Brazilian is not for sale this summer, but Thomas Frank and Co. don’t look like they are willing to take no for an answer.

Tottenham eye huge Savinho bid amid Thomas Frank request

Tottenham’s pursuit of Eberechi Eze has been dealt a major blow by news of his impending move to their bitter rivals Arsenal, and that appears to have placed even more emphasis on their ability to land Savinho.

City have recently decided that the 21-year-old will stay at the Etihad Stadium this summer, but the Lilywhites could be about to force them into a rethink once again.

Tottenham are now understood to be preparing a fresh £69m bid for the wideman, according to the Brazilian outlet Globo Esporte.

Savinho’s representatives are believed to still be in London, with the player keen to make the move due to the gametime that has been promised, which could help him with the World Cup on the horizon next summer.

It is thought that the winger is a personal request from Frank, who has made it clear to Daniel Levy that he is a player he wants within his ranks.

Reports suggest that while the negotiations have been complicated so far, Spurs are intent on working right up until the 1 September deadline to ensure they get their man.

Daniel Levy has to save face with Savinho signing

Levy’s failure to quickly close off the Eze deal is just the latest in a long line of transfer frustrations that Spurs fans will have with their chairman.

He has gained a reputation as a meticulous negotiator over the years, and often sacrifices speed in the process, which has seen the Lilywhites miss out on numerous key targets during his time in charge.

Now that Eze appears to have slipped through his grasp, there is even more importance attached to the Savinho chase, for both Levy and Frank.

The new boss has sent a clear message that the Brazilian is a player he wants, and it also presents Levy with a chance to save face after the Eze embarrassment.

However, if he also fails to convince City to do business, then Frank is well within his rights to be a little miffed at the backing that he is receiving in the market.
