Tottenham reach ‘Magic’ Manchester City transfer agreement, medical begins
Tottenham are set to complete a deal to sign Manchester City talent Daniel Batty, according to Fabrizio Romano.
The Italian journalist reports on 30 January that a £500,000 fee has been agreed between the clubs, which includes a sell-on clause.
Batty is undergoing a medical with the North London club ahead of completing the move.
Tottenham reach Manchester City transfer agreement
Spurs look set for a very busy end to the winter transfer window.
With a blockbuster £50million fee also agreed with Bayern Munich to sign Mathys Tel, Daniel Levy is finally opening the chequebook (Le Parisien).
Although a deal to sign Batty will likely go under the radar, it certainly fits the new profile of the club.
Spurs have tasted great success with the deals to sign Archie Gray and Lucas Bergvall, and they will hope that is repeated with Batty from Manchester City.
Batty is a young attacking midfielder who is described by the Citizens as someone who can create “magic” in the final third.
Ange Postecoglou likely won’t need that immediately despite the ongoing injury crisis in North London, but he is certainly one to watch in the years to come in the academy.
With Batty and Tel seemingly close to coming in, there could be even more new arrivals at Hotspur Way before the 3 February transfer deadline.
In other Tottenham news, Daniel Levy could end up making a decision about Spurs that would reflect rather poorly on him.
