Tottenham pave way for free agent signing as announcement made

Tottenham made some statement signings towards the end of the transfer window, but they could soon make another.

Xavi Simons arrived at Spurs from PSG and is already up and running after delivering an assist on his debut.

Thomas Frank also has Randal Kolo Muani within his ranks, although he was an unused substitute against the Hammers.

Now, the North London club can sign a free agent after a significant announcement by the North London club.

Tottenham name Premier League squad

Tottenham have started the Premier League season in fine fettle, having recorded three wins from four.

What has been even more pleasing is the performances of the summer signings, with Joao Palhinha and Mohammed Kudus delivering valiant displays.

Indeed, the Lilyhites may be encouraged to dip into the free agent market after announcing their 23-man squad.

That is because Frank’s squad contains 23 over-21 players, meaning that there is room for two new additions.

With this in mind, Tottenham have the option to delve into the free agent market if they so please.

Are Spurs likely to sign a free agent?

The Lilywhites’ decision to leave some spaces for signings may well be strategic as they want to keep their options open.

One factor that may have played into that is injuries, as last season they suffered a remarkable number of problematic setbacks.

Indeed, Kinsky was signed to aid the crisis amid the injury to Vicario and concerns over Fraser Forster.

As it stands, Frank has a strong squad at his disposal, but their fitness will be tested as they are fighting on all fronts this campaign.

If they do suffer a similar fate this season, then they may well sign a free agent or two before January.
