Tottenham likely to launch bid to re-sign former Spurs defender
Tottenham are already putting plans in place for the summer transfer window despite pressure mounting on manager Ange Postecoglou.
The North London club have fallen to 15th in the Premier League, but hope to reignite their season when they take on Eintracht Frankfurt in the second leg of their Europa League quarter-final on Thursday, 17 April.
Postecoglou’s side has had a difficult season so far, crashing out of the FA Cup and surrendering a 1-0 lead in the first leg of the Carabao Cup after a 4-1 thrashing at Anfield on the return.
As Spurs head into the clash with Frankfurt, it is make or break for both their season and Postecoglou’s future.

Spurs battling Chelsea to sign Kyle Walker-Peters
This season, Postecoglou’s side has been all high risk, no reward, conceding 45 goals in the Premier League, the 12th highest in the league.
With Wilson Odobert, Micky van de Ven and Destiny Udogie all suffering from hamstring injuries this season, a defensive signing this summer transfer window could be just what Spurs need going into the new season.
According to CaughtOffside (17 April), Tottenham are keen on a potential move to re-sign Kyle Walker-Peters this summer.
The 28-year-old will be out of contract at the end of the current season after refusing to sign a new deal with Southampton, which has piqued several clubs’ interest.
As well as the North London side, Chelsea is another big name said to be following the fullbacks’ situation, with West Ham, Fulham, and Crystal Palace also on the lookout.
Walker-Peters has been an important player for Southampton, despite a difficult season in the Premier League, and given Spurs’ defensive struggles this season, securing him on a free transfer is a tempting option.

Bringing back Walter-Peters could help Spurs
The 28-year-old started his journey with Spurs in 2013 with the club’s under-18s, climbing the ranks to the first team, making his Premier League debut in 2017, before being loaned and then sold to Southampton in January of 2020.
The future is sparkling for Spurs.
With Udogie (22), Radu Drăgușin (22) and van de Ven (23), just some of the names expected to cement Spurs’ backline in the future, Walker-Peters could bring a great deal of experience to this youthful Tottenham side, and may even come back with a point to prove at the club.
It is anticipated that formal approaches for the England international could come soon, with Spurs increasingly likely to attempt to bring him back to the club.
In a season that so far has been disappointing for both Tottenham and Walker-Peters, and a Spurs side in desperate need of defensive reinforcements, a return to North London could be just what’s needed heading towards a new, hopeful season.
