Tottenham ‘increasingly confident’ of new transfer after Mathys Tel developments

Tottenham have got one eye on the summer transfer window after such a disappointing campaign to this point.

The Lilywhites currently sit 12th in the Premier League after securing a first home win since November against Manchester United on Sunday (16 February).

Injuries have derailed Ange Postecoglou’s side and even with the addition of Kevin Danso during the winter window, fitness concerns have still been rife.

It now looks like the upcoming transfer season is going to be a busy one in North London and could kick off in ideal circumstances.

Tottenham confident of landing Mathys Tel permanent deal

Spurs were in desperate need of attacking options in January with injuries taking their toll on the forward line in North London.

This eventually saw Mathys Tel come in from Bayern Munich on an initial loan deal after turning down the prospect of a permanent switch.

Despite this, GiveMeSport have reported (19 February) that the N17 club are “increasingly confident” of completing a permanent deal in the summer.

The Frenchman is said to be loving life in London while embracing the culture of the UK despite the frustrations that Postecoglou’s side are dealing with.

The 19-year-old is supposedly open to making his switch to the Premier League capital despite not having an obligation to do so with the Bundesliga side.

Spurs are already keen to sign the versatile forward on a permanent deal as they look to bolster their attack while building a young and hungry squad.

Tottenham to benefit from Mathys Tel permanent signing

There is no doubt that the Bayern loanee has made a positive impression in a short period of time since signing in the final stages of the winter window.

This saw him score his first goal in England against Aston Villa in the FA Cup defeat while also being a positive force up front against Manchester United.

Tel represents an excellent option for Postecoglou and certainly will be excellent competition for Richarlison and Dominic Solanke when they return from injury.

The Australian will have a decision to make with his starting 11 with a fully fit squad and where the Frenchman fits into his plans.

After what has been a super start to life in North London, supporters will hope that his spell only continues to improve.
