Tottenham in shock bid to sign Joao Felix as Deadline Day transfer looms

Tottenham have expressed an interest in signing Joao Felix from Chelsea, according to Matt Law.

The reliable journalist reported via The Telegraph’s live transfer blog (3 February, 8:36 am) that the Portugal international is a potential option to strengthen Spurs’ attack.

However, Chelsea, who have also fielded interest from Aston Villa, are not sold on the idea of letting the 25-year-old join their Premier League rivals when other clubs in Europe, including AC Milan, are keen on signing him on deadline day.

Tottenham to sign Noah Okafor after Joao Felix snub?

Tottenham have made two additions to their squad so far in the winter transfer window in the shape of Antonin Kinsky and Kevin Danso.

It would not be a surprise if Spurs signed two more players on the final day of the window, with another defender and an attacker targetted.

It is understandable why Ange Postecoglou would want to bring in an attacker as he is currently without Dominic Solanke, Brennan Johnson, Timo Werner and Wilson Odobert.

They would have to hope that Milan fail in their effort to sign Felix if they still want to rope him in from Chelsea on Monday.

On the flip side, the Rossoneri signing Felix would open the door for Spurs to sign Noah Okafor.

The Serie A giants would have to offload a player to make space for the former Atletico Madrid forward and Okafor is a top candidate to leave the club before the deadline.

Tottenham, for their part, have already enquired about signing the Switzerland international [La Gazzetta dello Sport].
