Tottenham ‘have Jarrod Bowen answer’ after £50m+ transfer development

Tottenham are eyeing West Ham United forward Jarrod Bowen, and an offer of around £50million could soon be made.

Spurs are having an abysmal Premier League campaign as they sit 16th in the table, highlighting the need to strengthen their squad next summer.

Daniel Levy may fire Ange Postecoglou soon, but the North London outfit’s chairman will recognise the need for better players ahead of the upcoming campaign.

It isn’t surprising to see the Lilywhites considering signing Bowen after what he’s done in the English top flight over the years, but a deal may be hard to pull off.

Bowen not for sale at West Ham as Tottenham prepare offer

West Ham have no intention of selling Bowen in the upcoming transfer window, Hammers News shared.

A spokesman for the Irons’ owners told the news outlet (28 April) that while the East London club need to sell players to buy due to Profitability and Sustainability Rules (PSR), their captain isn’t for sale.

CaughtOffside reported earlier that Spurs were thinking about making a push for the 28-year-old forward, with a £50m-plus offer being considered.

However, the West Ham spokesman said: “It’s true we have to sell to buy due to PSR, like many other clubs.

“Let me make this perfectly clear. Jarrod [Bowen] is on a long contract and he is not for sale.”

Spurs should move on to other transfer targets as Son Heung-min replacement needed

Son Heung-min’s time at Spurs seems to be ending as the South Korea international has failed to hit the standards expected from him this season.

The North London outfit’s captain has struggled to remain fit in the current campaign and hasn’t been able to contribute as much when he does play.

Mathys Tel was signed from Bayern Munich in the winter transfer window, and it remains to be seen whether the Lilywhites make the deal permanent.

Tottenham must strengthen their attack in the upcoming transfer window with the addition of a reliable goalscorer, as Dominic Solanke has been underwhelming.

While the former Bournemouth star found the back of the net against Liverpool, the North London outfit eventually lost 5-1 at Anfield on Sunday (27 April).

Bowen has carried West Ham’s attack over the last few years, but the Lilywhites should prioritise other areas of the pitch instead of buying a right winger.

Spurs already have Brennan Johnson and Dejan Kulusevski in their ranks, and bolstering the left-hand side of the attack must be considered instead.

While Bowen would undoubtedly add quality to the North London outfit’s squad, those funds could arguably be spent on other areas of the pitch first.
