Tottenham gather all information for new attacker transfer amid agent talks
Tottenham are one of four Premier League clubs to have now gathered all information on Bayern Munich forward Mathys Tel and are talking to his representatives, Florian Plettenberg has said.
The Sky Sports Germany journalist posted on X (30 January) to name Spurs, Chelsea, Manchester United and Arsenal as the teams to have reached out to the German giants over a deal before Monday’s deadline.
Plettenberg added that Bayern are open to the possibility of a loan of permanent transfer, with the 19-year-old’s contract running at the Allianz Arena until 2029.
Tottenham in fight for Mathys Tel transfer
Tottenham could certainly do with attacking reinforcement before the transfer window slams shut on Monday given their growing injury crisis.
But a deal for Tel will certainly not be straight-forward given the amount of clubs interested in taking him, with several Premier League heavyweights looking for new attacking options.
Moreover, Plettenberg adds that Tel has interest from other clubs in Germany and France, so it promises to be a tough fight to get this transfer over the line.
So far, only Antonin Kinsky has arrived at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium this window despite the fact they have an obvious need for reinforcement to get them out of their rut in the Premier League.
The clock is ticking now Daniel Levy to get some last-gasp business done and it will be interesting to see if Tel does rock up in North London over the coming days.
In other Tottenham news, Ange Postecoglou could be about to save his job with a “stunning” transfer.
