Tottenham future signing set for loan deal with paperwork pending – Fabrizio Romano

Luka Vuskovic will make a loan move from Hajduk Split to Westerlo next season before he joins Tottenham Hotspur in 2025, according to Fabrizio Romano.

The Italian journalist posted on X to report that the 17-year-old defender, who previously agreed a deal to join up with Spurs in the summer of 2025, will head to Westerlo on loan from the Croatian club.

A Croatian youth international himself, Vuskovic has already spent the majority of this season from Hajduk at Polish Ekstraklasa side Radomiak Radom, and will now make another move to the Belgian Pro League for 2024/25.

The centre-back was signed by Spurs while still a 16-year-old, with the North Londoners paying a reported £12million fee to sign the highly-rated 2007-born defender until 2030 [X].

Luka Vuskovic gets loan experience before Tottenham transfer

When he finally arrives at Tottenham in roughly 12 months’ time, Vuskovic will already have seen much more of the footballing world than most players his age [John Wenham].

First-team experience in three European leagues across Croatia, Poland and now Belgium will give the defender a sample of different footballing styles, and a plethora of different opponents to face.

Standing at six-foot-four already, Vuskovic has the physical attributes to cope well regardless of the environment he’s playing in, and Ange Postecoglou will hope that this carries over to the Premier League [John Wenham].

The trajectory Vuskovic currently seems to be on – with five caps for Croatia’s under-19 side already – suggests that if his Westerlo move is a success, he could be a full international by the time he arrives in north London.

Regardless, Spurs are getting a highly-rated defender who will have experience in Croatia, Poland and Belgium under his belt by 2025, and being a hit in a fourth European league by the age of just 18 is a salivating prospect.
