Tottenham eye Hugo Bueno summer deal – fee Wolves want is daylight robbery
Tottenham are interested in securing the signature of Wolves wing-back Hugo Bueno.
The Spaniard has been one of Wolves’ better performers this term, though the bar is incredibly low in that regard, with Rob Edwards’ side amassing just 10 points from 28 outings.
TEAMtalk report that the 23-year-old could become available this summer, following Wolves’ likely relegation to the Championship.
The report also outlines that Everton and Newcastle are interested in the defender’s services.
Though the mooted fee would be a much better deal for Wolves than Tottenham, if they were to bring Bueno to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium over the summer.

Hugo Bueno has not quite proven himself yet
Making his debut prior to the arrival of Julen Lopetegui in 2022, Bueno continued to play a bit-part role at Wolves behind Rayan Ait-Nouri, who had become one of the first names on the teamsheet under Gary O’Neil and Vitor Pereira.
Young Bueno would make the switch to Feyenoord on loan ahead of the 2024-25 season, where he picked up crucial experience in a side competing on all fronts domestically and in Europe.
A fantastic crosser of a ball, Bueno would register four assists for the Rotterdammers, before returning to Wolves ahead of the current term.
With Ait-Nouri sold to Manchester City, the Spaniard would be given himself the chance to claim a starting spot at Molineux – a fight in which he soon overcame David Moller Wolfe.
Though, despite scoring once and registering an assist in the Premier League, the mercurial talents of Ait-Nouri have been sorely missed at Molineux.
Bueno has a great left footer, but his one-dimensional style really limits him in possession, while his physical attributes are completely incomparable to Tottenham’s current crop of left-sided defenders.
£20m Hugo Bueno move would be indicative of Tottenham’s current mess
The same report as above claims Wolves want around £20m for Bueno this summer.
Bueno is a player who has the ability and potential to be a reliable full-back at Premier League level, though a £20m fee at this stage of his career would be incredibly indicative of just why Tottenham are in the mess that they find themselves in.
Money has been spent consistently by the club. However, there is a difference in the level of players recruited by Spurs when compared to others with high ambitions.
Too often, Tottenham have been caught out by their recruitment, hence why the current Premier League standings see them occupy 16th.
Wolves have been ripped apart for talent in recent few years, with the aforementioned Ait-Nouri moving on, alongside Matheus Cunha, Pedro Neto and more.
The difference is that none of these players ever find themselves at Tottenham, instead, Spurs could end up splashing a big fee on a player who has failed to adequately replace one of the mercurial talents mentioned.
Tottenham are in need of a big reset over the summer, and while there are always opportunities to raid relegated sides, such a huge fee on Bueno is not the way to begin this reset.
