Tottenham eye David Hancko bid amid £35m transfer twist
David Hancko is the latest name to emerge on Ange Postecoglou’s January shortlist at Tottenham, TBR Football reports.
According to the news outlet’s website [18 December], Feyenoord could sell the defender for less than the £35million they wanted in the summer.
Postecoglou will pursue defensive reinforcements in January, with Micky van de Ven and Cristian Romero sidelined for the foreseeable future, as Hanko joins the long list of names touted with a mid-season switch to North London.

The 27-year-old has already found himself in the limelight this season after starring for Feyenoord in the sensational Champions League comeback against Manchester City.
Feyenoord went three goals down at the Etihad with all hope lost before the Eredivisie side responded with three goals in the final 16 minutes of the contest, with Hancko scoring the 89th-minute equaliser to rescue a point.
While impressing in the Champions League, Hancko has been a first team regular in the Netherlands and played a crucial role during Liverpool boss Arne Slot’s title-winning 2022/23 season.
The Slovakian would not only be the perfect short-term solution to the defensive crisis at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, but he would challenge the preferred pairing of van de Ven and Romero for a starting berth.
Furthermore, Radu Dragusin has emerged as a transfer target for Fiorentina alongside Serie A rivals Juventus [Tutto Mercato], and after enduring a difficult spell in North London, Postecoglou may be left powerless in preventing the Romanian to seek a January exit.
While Ben Davies is planning on extending his stay with Spurs beyond the current season – should Dragusin leave – having only one senior option in central defence alongside makeshift centre-back Archie Gray will not suffice.
Tottenham are still in contention for a Champions League finish with only a five-point gap to fourth-place Nottingham Forest – adding Hancko to the ranks could turn the tide in Postecoglou’s favour.
