Tottenham ‘could do the unthinkable’ after confirmed Arsenal transfer news
Tottenham are preparing to begin life under new manager Thomas Frank and have a number of summer transfer targets lined up.
Spurs have an opportunity to emphatically kickstart their season and Frank’s tenure at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium by securing more European silverware.
As winners of the Europa League, the Lilywhites will take on the Champions League winners Paris Saint-Germain in the UEFA Super Cup final in August.
To give themselves the best opportunity possible, it would be wise for Spurs to conduct the majority of their transfer business early, so Frank has more time to work with potential new signings before the final.

Spurs could pursue defender following Arsenal exit
Mohamed Kudus and Jack Grealish are two players who have been linked with a move to North London, and both would certainly be quality options for Frank to have at his disposal.
Defence is certainly an area Spurs will need to address in the summer, particularly if Cristian Romero completes a move to Atletico Madrid.
Jarrad Branthwaite was touted as a potential replacement for the Argentinian, but the move seems unlikely given his recent contract extension at Everton.
This could open the door for Spurs to make a move for the now-former Arsenal defender, Takehiro Tomiyasu.
Tomiyasu left Arsenal with immediate effect on Friday (4 July) after a mutual termination of his contract at The Emirates.
The Japanese defender has suffered a new injury and will be back at the end of 2025, but will be available on a free transfer.

Tomiyasu could be a shrewd signing for Spurs
Given his Arsenal affiliation, it may not be a popular opinion, but Tomiyasu could prove to be a valuable squad option for Spurs.
A marquee centre-half would still need to be signed by Daniel Levy, but Tomiyasu would provide useful cover across the backline.

The Japanese international, 26, has a vast amount of Premier League experience and also has two seasons of Serie A football under his belt from his time at Bologna.
It’s not a signing that would excite supporters as much as Davide Frattesi, for example, but it could provide the sort of squad depth that Spurs lacked at times last season.
And while swapping the two clubs may seem unthinkable, it could just prove to be a shrewd acquisition.
