Tottenham blow Arsenal out of water to sign Leroy Sane in new twist
Tottenham are chasing players of a higher standing now that they have secured Champions League football for next season.
Spurs achieved the feat by beating Manchester United 1-0 in the Europa League final thanks to a Brennan Johnson goal.
Ange Postecoglou was the man responsible for the win and ended the Lilywhites’ 17-year trophy drought in the process.
As they look to strengthen their squad, Bayern Munich’s Leroy Sane has been identified as a top target for the North London club.

Tottenham lead Arsenal to sign Leroy Sane
Tottenham will certainly face a battle to land Sane, but recent reports suggest they have a decent chance of signing him.
The winger is out of contract this summer and will be available on a free transfer if he departs the Allianz Arena, with the possibility of staying still on the cards.
Sane made 30 appearances in the Bundesliga this season, but just over half of those were from the bench.
Leroy Sane’s 2024/25 Bundesliga statistics | Total |
Appearances (starts) | 30 (17) |
Goals | 11 |
Expected goals (xG) | 10.23 |
Big chances missed | 14 |
Assists | 5 |
Touches | 42.4 |
Despite interest from Arsenal, Sane’s agent has negotiated a much higher offer with Spurs, according to SkySport.ch.
They claim that the 29-year-old is seduced by the idea of a return to England, having played for Manchester City.
As it stands, the Lilywhites can offer him a starting place on the right wing, which could be a defining factor over other offers.
They add that despite concrete offers from Turkey and Saudi Arabia, Sane wants to continue to play at the highest level.
It is believed that if he were to sign for Tottenham, which is increasingly likely, then he would sign a four-year deal.

Sane would be statement signing for Spurs
Although Sane has not started as much as he would have liked for Bayern, he still has something to offer at the very top.
Throughout his career, he has contributed in front of goal, whether that be scoring or assisting from the wing.
At 29, the Germany international still has a few seasons ahead of him to play at the highest level, which explains a potential four-year deal.
Given Son Heung-min’s decline, the Lilywhites could do with reinforcements on the wing, and Sane can play on the left or right.
Furthermore, Sane would surely be an upgrade on Brennan Johnson, who has had a promising season in North London.
The German now has a decision to make, but it looks as though he will choose Tottenham over Arsenal.
