Tottenham begin steps to seal new transfer, groundwork ongoing

Tottenham have begun steps to sign a new attacker this summer and are not waiting until the season ends.

The North London outfit have made plenty of reinforcements in the final third over the last two windows, but are still keen on signing a new winger.

This deal could impact the futures of some of the current players at the club.

Spurs may be set to move for Jamie Gittens

Give Me Sport reported on 24 March that Spurs could sign Borussia Dortmund winger Jamie Gittens.

It’s understood that they’ve already begun groundwork on the 20-year-old Englishman.

Gittens would be an exceptional signing for Tottenham, offering a dynamic blend of youth, versatility, and proven quality that aligns perfectly with Ange Postecoglou’s attacking philosophy.

Jamie Gittens has done well for Borussia Dortmund this season.

The 20-year-old Borussia Dortmund winger has dazzled in the Bundesliga, boasting 11 goals in 40 appearances this season and has showcased his flair and impact.

Spurs, despite their goal-scoring prowess in the Premier League, have been plagued by injuries, exposing a lack of depth in wide areas.

Gittens, with his pace, directness and finishing would bolster their attack alongside young talents like Wilson Odobert and Brennan Johnson.

His English roots and 28 youth international caps also suggest a seamless cultural fit, while his experience at Dortmund proves he can handle top-tier pressure, making him a long-term investment.

Daniel Levy and Johan Lange need to make moves quickly for Tottenham

To secure his services, Tottenham must act decisively.

With Liverpool also linked, Spurs need to leverage their groundwork and expedite negotiations with Dortmund before the summer window intensifies.

Offloading fringe players like Yves Bissouma, Richarlison, Manor Solomon, Bryan Gil, and Alejo Veliz is crucial to fund the deal, while Daniel Levy and Johan Lange may need to weigh cashing in on a star like Son Heung-min or Cristian Romero to balance the books but it’s important they do that quickly.

Presenting Gittens with a clear role in Postecoglou’s high-pressing, fluid system – coupled with a competitive wage – could tip the scales, ensuring the Lilywhites outpace rivals to land one of Europe’s brightest forward prospects.
