Thomas Frank signs off on own sack after ridiculous transfer target revealed

Thomas Frank remains under big sack pressure at Tottenham – and his latest move will do little to help the situation.

Frank joined Tottenham from Brentford last summer, but his switch to North London has been a complete disaster.

Spurs are currently a lowly 14th in the Premier League table, and have won just one of their last six top-flight matches.

To make matters worse, Tottenham are now out of the FA Cup after being beaten 2-1 by Aston Villa last weekend.

Thomas Frank wants new left-winger after Conor Gallagher

Conor Gallagher came in as Tottenham’s first signing of the January transfer window on Wednesday, joining from Atletico Madrid for a fee of around £34million.

Aston Villa were also interested in the former Chelsea midfielder, but Spurs managed to get the deal over the line.

After the addition of Gallagher, the Lilywhites are now working to bring in another signing.

According to The Telegraph, Frank would still like an attacker who can play off the left this month or in the summer window if possible.

However, given the current makeup of their squad, the Dane should be far more focused on other areas.

Thomas Frank target proves he is out of his depth

There are several positions in the Tottenham team that require immediate attention, but left-winger is not one of them.

Spurs have the likes of Mathys Tel, Wilson Odobert, Richarlison and Xavi Simons who already operate in that area.

Frank would be better advised to focus his efforts on the right-wing, where the North London side are now very short on options.

Mohammed Kudus is now out for Spurs until April after picking up a thigh injury in the 1-1 draw with Sunderland, which is a big blow given that the former West Ham man has been trusted on the right for much of the campaign so far.

Frank’s insistence on going for a left-sided player is just another example that he is out of his depth and sleepwalking to the sack at Tottenham.
