Thomas Frank set to sign his very own Vinicius Jr at Tottenham, Savinho ready to join
Tottenham have been linked with some headline names ahead of the Premier League season.
Spurs have reportedly bid for Rodrygo, although pulling off such a deal would be some coup.
Thomas Frank already has Mohammed Kudus through the door on the left wing, but now the Lilywhites are looking to bolster the opposite flank.
That is because the North London club have lined up a move for a player who has been compared to Rodrygo’s Real Madrid teammate Vinicius Junior.
Step forward, Savinho.

Tottenham open talks to sign Savinho from Man City
Brennan Johnson may have impressed in Spurs’ draw over Newcastle United, but he is set to face competition this season.
That is because Tottenham have opened club-to-club talks to sign Savinho from Man City.
Negotiations are said to be ongoing between the Lilywhites and City, with the winger open to the move if the clubs can agree on a fee.
Furthermore, Frank has indicated that Savinho is an ideal player as he looks to stamp his mark on his squad.

The Brazilian has only been in the Premier League for a season, but has shown glimpses of quality under Pep Guardiola.
Last term, the right winger notched two goals and twelve assists in all competitions and also contributed at the FIFA Club World Cup.

Why Savinho was compared to Vinicius Junior
Man City signed Savinho from Ligue 1 club Troyes in 2024, but the Brazilian enjoyed a loan spell with Girona during the 2023/24 season.
While on loan with the La Liga outfit, the 21-year-old recorded 19 league goal contributions, as well as scoring twice in the Copa del Rey.
Girona’s manager, Michel, heaped praise on the winger, who significantly contributed to the Spanish club’s best season in their entire history.
“I know this is a big statement, but I hadn’t seen anyone so effective in one-on-one situations since Vinicius Jr emerged,” Michel said, via BBC Sport (18 July 2024).
“He was perhaps the most surprising talent in La Liga if you consider that [Jude] Bellingham was already known by everybody.”
- Savinho was lauded in Spain for his performances
- He was in the 95th percentile for assists per 90 minutes last season
- The Brazilian would be an upgrade on Johnson
Girona finished third that season and qualified for the Champions League; they were behind second-placed Barcelona by only four points.
In England, Savinho has caused defenders problems with his pace and trickery and would be a real asset for Tottenham.
If Spurs can secure his signature, then it would be a real statement of intent ahead of the new campaign.
