Thomas Frank pushes for Tottenham to land player Harry Kane raved about on permanent deal

Thomas Frank can be more than happy with his start to life at Tottenham, helped by some positive summer transfer business.

Tottenham saw off Doncaster Rovers in the Carabao Cup in midweek and are third in the Premier League after five matches.

Mohammed Kudus joined Tottenham from West Ham and has taken little time to settle into his new surroundings, while the likes of Xavi Simons and Joao Palhinha are also finding their feet.

The summer transfer window may only have closed this month, but already there appears to be plans in place for Spurs to get a deal over the line for a permanent deal in 2026.

Tottenham ready to trigger permanent Joao Palhinha transfer

Palhinha has been superb for Tottenham since joining on loan from Bayern Munich in the summer transfer window.

Indeed, the Portugal international was the best player on the field in the win over Doncaster on Wednesday.

Palhinha may have only signed on an initial loan deal, but Spurs have the option to turn that deal permanent.

And according to talkSPORT on 25 September, Frank is eager for that to happen sooner rather than later.

Palhinha has featured in all eight of Tottenham’s matches this season and has been a standout performer in the middle of the park.

How much would Joao Palhinha cost Tottenham?

As per widespread reports, Spurs have the option to purchase Palhinha for a fee of £27million.

That would be a steal in today’s market, especially when you consider Bayern Munich paid Fulham an initial £42.3m for the midfielder a little over a year ago.

Palhinha’s time at Bayern did not go to plan, but he still did enough to impress Spurs legend Harry Kane in Bavaria.

Indeed, speaking earlier this year, Kane told reporters of Palhinha: “He’s tough, he tackles hard, he’s good on the ball, he knows the Premier League well from his time at Fulham and he’s a guy that will give everything for you.”

Spurs fans have taken no time at all to fall in love with Palhinha, and the hope now is that his loan move is made permanent in time for the start of next year.
