Son Heung-min exit: Sources reveal £41.4m transfer news in Tottenham bombshell

Tottenham could be tempted to cash in on Son Heung-min at the end of the season as details of a new offer come to light.

At 32, Son continues to be a key player for Tottenham, bagging 10 goals and eight assists in 34 appearances across all competitions.

However, with the South Korea international turning 33 in July and his contract expiring in June 2026, the North London giants are at a crossroads.

Spurs must decide if they want to keep Son for the foreseeable future or sell him if they receive a suitable offer and this summer might be the right time to do that.

Saudi Pro League giants want Son Heung-min

Al-Hilal and Al-Ittihad are interested in signing Son amid some uncertainty over his future at Tottenham, according to CaughtOffside.

The news outlet reported via their website on 20 February that the Saudi Pro League giants are willing to pay as much as £41.4million for the Korean.

Spurs, though, intend to retain Son’s services as things stand and are ready to open talks over a new contract with the former Bayer Leverkusen ace.

Son, for his part, is also satisfied with his time under Ange Postecoglou, meaning he is prepared to put pen to paper on a fresh deal if terms can be agreed.

However, the Saudi heavyweights remain interested in the attacker and could pounce if they see an opportunity, with their ability to offer ‘big money’ potentially persuading him of a transfer.

Tottenham could cash in on Son Heung-min

Unlike several Premier League clubs, Tottenham do not face PSR constraints and are, therefore, not strapped for cash ahead of the summer transfer window.

Daniel Levy is, thus, under no immediate pressure to sell Son, although he is set to enter the final year of his contract in North London.

However, it would be understandable if Spurs cashed in on the forward this summer, especially if they receive a £41.4m offer for him.

That is a huge amount of money to reject for a player who will be 33 years old at the start of next season.
