Solanke reacts as shock transfer sealed for ex-Tottenham star

There is still uncertainty about what Thomas Frank’s squad will look like next season as Tottenham enters the critical stages of the summer transfer window.

Dominic Solanke’s debut season was filled with ups and downs since joining from Bournemouth last August.

The Englishman came into Ange Postecoglou’s squad as a second option, but quickly replaced Richarlison as his starting striker. However, the 27-year-old was often criticised for his output in some of Spurs’ bigger confrontations in the Premier League.

But things change quickly in football, and heading into the new season, it remains uncertain what Tottenham under Frank will look like.

Solanke reacts as Kyle Walker signs for Burnley

The summer of 2009 saw Kyle Walker sign for Tottenham from Sheffield United, where he made his debut the following January against Portsmouth.

It soon became clear to everyone at Spurs that the fullback was a special talent, but he later departed the club for Manchester City in the hope of winning silverware.

But the Englishman has maintained a good relationship with supporters, going as far as to state he would trade one of his Premier League trophies to have lifted the UEFA Europa League with Spurs.

Walker has since confirmed his transfer to recently promoted side Burnley in a post via Instagram on Saturday (5 July).

The former City star wrote, “Very happy to be joining @burnleyofficial. I can’t wait to get back on the pitch playing.

“Thank you to everyone who’s helped make this move happen. Up the clarets.”

Solanke supported the fullback by liking his post on Instagram.

Tottenham should trust Solanke next season

Solanke has recently been linked with an exit from Hotspur Way this summer, despite a strong season.

However, Tottenham should trust him to lead their frontline next season, and there is already an indication that Thomas Frank will do just this.

The striker contributed to 24 goals last season in 45 appearances and but in a huge defensive shift during the Europa League final in Bilbao. There is no doubt that he could reach new heights under Frank.

Indeed, the Dane is known for his ability to get the best out of his players and Solanke could be next to make that list if given the chance to succeed in North London.
