Pep Guardiola has just opened the door for Tottenham to sign Man City star
Tottenham need to pull their finger out in the January transfer window, even if it means sacking Thomas Frank.
Spurs were knocked out of the FA Cup by Aston Villa on Saturday, seeing arguably their best chance of winning silverware this season fade in the third round.
Frank has been placed under immense pressure by the Lilywhites after failing to win in six of their previous seven matches in all competitions.
But as it stands, Spurs are set to stick by Frank, and if the former Brentford boss is to pull off a turnaround in 2026, he will need a couple of additions to his squad.
Tottenham could sign Oscar Bobb from Man City
Tottenham fans have been unimpressed with the lack of attacking football on show from their side, and that is mainly down to poor quality in the final third.
Richarlison remains Frank’s top scorer in the Premier League with seven, and next on that list are Micky van de Ven, Joao Palhinha and Mathys Tel with three.
Spurs have been linked with multiple attackers in an attempt to fix their woes, including Antoine Semenyo, but he has sealed his £65million move to Manchester City.
Semenyo scored and assisted on his City debut during their 10-1 demolition of Exeter City in the FA Cup on Saturday, and the Ghanaian could now help Frank sign one of his other targets.
Tottenham have shown an interest in Oscar Bobb from the Cityzens, and the 25-year-old’s arrival at the Etihad Stadium could pave the way for his exit.

That is according to journalist Florian Plettenberg, who has claimed that Semenyo could take Bobb’s place in his squad.
Borussia Dortmund are “monitoring” Bobb’s situation, and talks are ongoing for the 22-year-old to potentially leave this month.
What Pep Guardiola has said about Bobb
In a stacked Man City team, Bobb has struggled to play regularly since returning from a long-term injury.
The Norwegian international has made just nine appearances in the Premier League this term, mostly from the bench, and has assisted just once.
Bobb has scored just three senior goals for City, and that won’t make Spurs fans believe he is the answer to their troubles.
Nonetheless, Guardiola does rate the exciting young winger highly, and following their win over Brentford, he was quick to praise the attacking and defensive side of his game.
“Oscar defensively is a machine, he helped us a lot and in the final third,” Guardiola said via Man City’s official website in October.
“His one-v-one is really good and he made good decisions. I’m really pleased he played good. I will encourage him to be more incisive and when he goes one on one, two v two, he can create really big situations.
“He made an incredible pass to Phil which was a clear chance on the penalty spot that he should have got on target.
“In general, he was really, really good in that 1st half and defensively, offensively – in all aspects and he is a player we trust a lot.”
