Nkunku in Chelsea exit talks as bombshell £38m Tottenham news shared
Tottenham look set to capitalise on Christopher Nkunku’s difficult career at Chelsea.
Spurs are set for a busy summer transfer window as the club look to bolster their squad ahead of next season’s Champions League campaign.
Ange Postecoglou has called for more experienced players to be brought in to help guide the young squad, and have turned their eyes towards Chelsea ace Nkunku.
The French international has struggled to lock down a place in the starting lineup with the Blues since his move from RB Leipzig in 2023, often being limited to a place on the bench.
Carlo Cudicini’s move across the capital in 2009 was the last time Spurs signed a senior player directly from their bitter rivals, but that could soon change with the latest developments.

Spurs willing to splash the cash for Nkunku
Nkunku’s peripheral role and disgruntlement in South London has opened the door for Spurs to use part of the Europa League windfall to swoop in for the versatile forward.
Competition | Starts | Substituted in | Goals | Assists |
Premier League | 9 | 18 | 3 | 2 |
UEFA Conference League | 7 | 2 | 5 | 3 |
FA Cup | 2 | 0 | 1 | – |
Carabao Cup | 2 | 0 | 3 | – |
The 27-year-old has been subjected to a peripheral role, limited mainly to cup competitions, and is looking to move this summer.
According to a report by Fichajes (26 May), Tottenham are willing to negotiate a deal to bring the PSG youth product initially on loan, with an option to buy worth up to £38million.
The player himself is eager to leave Chelsea, with Spurs providing a chance to continue his career in the Premier League.
The deal would benefit Chelsea, who will look to thin out their overinflated squad and make sure to recoup a large chunk of the initial £52m they paid for Nkunku.

Nkunku would add new dimension to Spurs’ artillery
Tottenham‘s front line have proved to be very unreliable this season.
Dominic Solanke’s impact has been hit-and-miss, and he was hardly supported by Richarlison, who has spent most of his Spurs career on the sidelines.
Only Brennan Johnson hit double figures in the league this season, with no player managing to record 10 assists.
Nkunku could solve both problems as he is a very creative and direct player with a keen eye for goal.
His profile as a technically gifted dribbler would also allow him to play out wide, rendering him a very astute signing for Spurs should they get the deal over the line.
