Tottenham have been linked with Leroy Sane ahead of his Bayern Munich contract expiring next month.

Ange Postecoglou ended a 17-year trophy drought at Tottenham when he brought the Europa League Cup home to Hotspur Way.

Spurs could now use the prospect of Champions League football to their advantage to attract several big names this summer.

One of these is Bayern’s Sane, who is soon to be out of contract with the German club and could be tempted to return to the Premier League.

Sane has been offered to Tottenham

The former Manchester City man played an important role in Vincent Kompany’s title-winning team this season.

Sane played 30 out of a possible 34 Bundesliga games to help Bayern once again claim the title, which they had conceded to Bayern Leverkusen, who were defeated in the league last year.

However, he could once again find solace in England once his contract runs out next month.

According to Sky Sports journalist Kaveh Solhekol on Wednesday (28 May), “he has been offered to clubs like Tottenham.”

However, his new agent, Pini Zahavi, was spotted on Wednesday entering a restaurant in Munich to have lunch with Bayern sporting director Max Eberl, who is offering Sane a deal of up to £250,000 a week.”

Sane would be a massive gamble for Spurs

While Sane is already a Premier League-proven player, he is approaching 30 and would be a huge gamble for Spurs.

Tottenham have the upper hand when it comes to transfers this summer, and with Champions League football on the cards, they are likely to have their pick of the litter, but will need to consider each option carefully.

Postecoglou has given minutes to several young players this season, including Archie Gray and Wilson Odebert, who have shone on the pitch.

Now, bright stars hunting for greatness, the signing of an experienced but ageing player could dim the light of some of Tottenham’s youngest.
