Kevin Danso work permit update: When new Tottenham star could make debut

Kevin Danso will be able to play for Tottenham against Liverpool if his work permit is approved by then, according to Alasdair Gold.

The football.london journalist revealed on his personal X account (2 February) that the 26-year-old is expected to be available for the North London outfit on Thursday (6 February) to take on the Reds in the second leg of the Carabao Cup semi-final.

Spurs have confirmed the centre-back’s arrival from Lens on loan with an obligation to buy in the summer.

The Lilywhites have agreed a £20.9million deal with the French outfit, and the 26-year-old defender will sign a five-and-a-half-year contract (The Athletic, 2 February).

Tottenham seal surprise Kevin Danso transfer

Ange Postecoglou has evidently been desperate for reinforcements at the North London outfit after several injury issues in the squad.

The Australian manager has had to tweak his defence completely over the last few matches due to the unavailability of some senior players.

Archie Gray has been deployed at the back alongside the likes of Radu Dragusin, Ben Davies and Micky van de Ven in recent matches.

Tottenham seemingly needed to add depth to their backline and have now done so with the addition of Danso to their ranks.

The former Lens centre-back had been a pivotal player for the Ligue 1 outfit and caught a lot of people’s attention with his performances in France.

It isn’t surprising to see the Austrian defender seal a move to the North London outfit, considering Daniel Levy was seemingly actively participating in signing new players.

The 26-year-old will undoubtedly be a key player for Postecoglou in the second half of the season, and it will be interesting to see how he’ll settle into the Premier League.
