Harry Kane indication could mean Tottenham exit is on the cards after ‘shocker’
Son Heung-min could be tempted to leave Tottenham for a reunion with former teammate Harry Kane at Bayern Munich, according to The Sun.
The newspaper reported on Wednesday (1 December) that Son, who is expected to extend his stay in North London, could now have his head turned after Kane admitted he would welcome the Spurs captain in Germany.
Tottenham retains the option to extend Son’s contract by a further year, but the 32-year-old endured a “shocker” in the 2-2 draw against Wolves on Sunday (29 December), and doubt regarding his long-term future is beginning to creep in.
Tottenham could part ways with Son Heung-min
As things stand, Son will become a free agent at the end of the season, so speculation regarding his future is expected, given the circumstances.
However, despite ESPN (30 December) naming the South Korean international as a player who could be on the move in January, there is no chance Ange Postecoglou will allow his star talisman to leave midway through the campaign.
While he will be 33 next summer, he has been rolling back the years at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium this term with 11 goal contributions in 16 Premier League outings.
With Spurs rooted in the bottom half of the table at the New Year, Postecoglou has a mountain to climb to keep their Champions League aspirations alive and close the 11-point gap to fourth-place Chelsea.
Therefore, Son must remain in North London and help his teammates salvage what remains of the season, and the situation can be revisited in the summer.

The Spurs faithful will riot should Daniel Levy sanction the sale of the fan favourite, and while he is hardly the most beloved figure among the supporters, even he will understand the ramifications of the decision he faces.
Son will be well and truly into the twilight years of his career upon the season’s end – allowing him to call time on his Tottenham tenure may be a logical decision – but allowing it to happen in January would be disastrous.
