Gibbs-White contract drawn up amid Forest and Tottenham transfer saga

Tottenham are waiting to sign Morgan Gibbs-White as Nottingham Forest have signalled their intention to explore legal action.

Spurs are hopeful of signing the ex-Wolves star by triggering his £60million release clause after the Tricky Trees deemed their approach illegal.

With the disagreement between Danil Levy and Evangelos Marinakis ongoing, a contract has been drawn up for the 25-year-old midfielder in the meantime.

Forest to offer Gibbs-White new contract amid Tottenham transfer stand-off

Forest are set to offer Gibbs-White a new contract amid their transfer stand-off with Tottenham, according to GiveMeSports.

The news outlet reports (16 July) that the Tricky Trees are working to persuade the England international to commit his long-term future at the City Ground.

It’s been claimed that the West Bridgford outfit is hoping to remove the 25-year-old’s release clause, which Spurs are hoping to trigger, but their efforts have been futile so far.

Tottenham will hope Forest eventually give in after failing to convince Gibbs-White and look for replacements in the ongoing transfer window.

The North London outfit are working on strengthening their squad going into next season as they look to compete in the Premier League and Champions League.

Thomas Frank has a massive task on his hands, as the former Brentford boss will be expected to build on Ange Postecoglou’s Europa League success in N17.

Tottenham showcased their frailties in the English top flight last season after finishing 17th, and there arguably needs to be a significant overhaul to build a competitive side.

Tottenham should push for alternative targets for Frank

Spurs signed Mohammed Kudus from West Ham United to bolster their attacking options, but more quality is evidently needed throughout the squad.

Gibbs-White will provide the North Londoners with a much-needed option in the middle of the park after fitness issues to James Maddison, Lucas Bergvall and Dejan Kulusevski in the previous campaign.

The Forest midfielder was a key player for Nuno Espirito Santo last season, as the Tricky Trees almost secured a Champions League spot.

Supporters in N17 will keep a close eye on the 25-year-old’s situation in Nottingham as things will certainly become clearer soon.
