Everything we know about Radu Dragusin’s contract situation after Arsenal horror show

Radu Dragusin had a day to forget for Tottenham against Arsenal on Sunday.

The Romania international started as part of a back three in North London and played a role as the Lilywhites conceded four.

Eberechi Eze and Viktor Gyokeres both netted two to cancel out Randal Kolo Muani’s strike to secure an easy 4-1 win at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

That has prompted negative reviews towards Igor Tudor’s side, with Dragusin facing his fair share of criticism in N17.

Now, Tottenham News has assessed everything we know about his contract situation after a day to forget in the derby.

What is Radu Dragusin’s contract situation at Tottenham?

The defender signed for Spurs in January 2024 as he agreed a winter switch from Serie A side Genoa for a reported fee of £25million.

He was seen as a positive addition for Spurs at the time to add much-needed squad depth to a side that struggled with injuries then and has continued to ever since.

Things haven’t really worked out for the 24-year-old, and his recent long-term injury certainly hasn’t helped him to thrive.

His showcase against Arsenal was further evidence of his struggles and has raised questions over his future in North London.

Dragusin signed a six-year deal with Spurs in 2024 and will be under contract with the Lilywhites until June 2030.

Tottenham Radu Dragusin wages

The Romanian is on £85,000-per-week, which equates to a yearly salary of over £4million, an eye-watering amount for a fringe player.

That sets him out at a similar wage to Pedro Porro, Micky van de Ven and Richarlison, which is obviously strange.

Dragusin slammed after Arsenal showing

The 2002-born defender started alongside van de Ven and Joao Palhinha against Arsenal and looked the worst of the three.

It wasn’t a glorious day for anyone associated with Tottenham, but that didn’t stop former midfielder Jamie O’Hara from pointing towards Dragusin.

The current talkSPORT host took to X on derby day to say: “Ronnie Henry, who I had at Billericay, is better than Dragusin.”

That sums up the general feeling around the defender, with many unlikely to be frustrated by his current contract situation.

Dragusin looks set to stick around in North London for another four years, although an imminent exit could well be on the cards.
