Daniel Levy should be ashamed as lightning set to strike twice for Tottenham
Tottenham have undoubtedly experienced a hugely frustrating transfer window.
Spurs have signed Kevin Danso, Matheus Tel and Mohamed Kudus on permanent deals, while Palhinha looks like a great capture on a season-long loan, but more was expected this summer.
Tottenham have been frustrated by Morgan Gibbs-White’s transfer falling through at the last moment. They then had their move for Eberechi Eze hijacked by Arsenal.
Now, Thomas Frank has less than a week to build a Tottenham squad capable of competing domestically and in the Champions League this season.

Tottenham fail again as Piero Hincapie ‘says yes’ to Arsenal
Tottenham boss Frank was reportedly interested in strengthening his defence by signing Piero Hincapie from Bayer Leverkusen.
The 23-year-old was part of the Leverkusen team that went unbeaten and won the domestic double in 2023-24.
He already has 46 caps for Ecuador and was seen as good competition for Micky Van de Ven and Christian Romero.
However, Arsenal have also been chasing Hincapie, and it has now been reported by Fabrizio Romano via X that the defender has agreed to sign for the Gunners.

Understand Hincapié favors #AFC and also seen as ideal signing by Arteta.

If Arsenal complete the transfer, it will be the second time in one month that Tottenham have been pipped to a transfer by their North London rivals.
Daniel Levy needs to buck up his ideas after shameful transfer window at Tottenham
At any given opportunity, Daniel Levy will happily talk about what a big club Tottenham is.
Yet, this summer, they continue to miss out on so many transfer targets. If the finger can be pointed anywhere, it should be at the Tottenham board.
Levy has a reputation for being a fierce negotiator, but it seems as if his reluctance to splash serious cash is costing Tottenham time and again.
Levy has pulled off a stroke of genius by appointing Thomas Frank as his manager. Now, he needs to back his man in the transfer market to ensure that his full potential is fulfilled.
Tottenham desperately need to sign:
- A playmaker or two
- A striker to challenge Dominic Solanke and Richarlison
- Some defenders to act as cover for Van de Ven and Romero
This would put them in a great position to thrive in the Premier League and hopefully treat the fans to some memorable results in Europe.
However, with less than a week to go until the transfer window closes, it’s looking more likely that Tottenham will fall short of this ideal squad.
