Daniel Levy could make most ridiculous Tottenham blunder yet amid Eberechi Eze latest

Tottenham made a dream start to life under Thomas Frank in the Premier League as they cruised to a 3-0 win over Burnley.

Impressive performances from the likes of Richarlison and Mohammed Kudus had those within the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium fantasising about how this new era under Frank could potentially unfold.

With Cristian Romero and Djed Spence putting pen to paper on new deals, Spurs have tied down two of their most important defenders, but the attacking areas still look they are being prioritised by the Lilywhites for the remainder of the transfer window.

One of those being linked with a move to North London is Crystal Palace ace Eberechi Eze, with the Palace playmaker representing a fantastic potential addition to Frank’s squad.

Eze deal still not in place between Tottenham and Crystal Palace

Eze reminded everyone of the quality he possesses when the England international thumped his free-kick into the back of the net against Chelsea over the weekend, only for it to be cruelly ruled out.

Eze would be a great signing for Frank, who could deploy the 27-year-old either in midfield or out wide.

However, according to a report from The Independent (18 August), there is still one hurdle for Leeds to overcome.

The report states that whilst negotiations are ongoing, a deal has yet to be agreed, with Palace wanting more of the fee up front to ensure they can secure a replacement.

With Arsenal also sniffing around the midfielder, it would be a disastrous mistake from Levy and Co. to not meet this reasonable demand and allow their arch rivals to swoop in and steal Eze’s services.

If that happens, all for the sake of some extra millions upfront rather than down the line, it would be one of Levy’s biggest howlers to date.

Spurs must stump up the cash

After the saga regarding Morgan Gibbs-White, Spurs need to avoid the risk and just cave in to Palace’s realistic demands.

If Levy was shrewdly negotiation a chunk off the eventual transfer fee this would be understandable, but to have seemingly agreed on a fee and miss out on a talented player because of a payment structure would be a huge blunder.

Frank has already built some positive momentum at Spurs, and equipping the Dane with the best squad possible will only aid the Dane even further as they aim to qualify for a spot in Europe.
