Axel Disasi transfer: ‘Tottenham decision made’ with Chelsea on Deadline Day
Tottenham have told Chelsea they are giving up on the signing of Axel Disasi, according to Ben Jacobs.
The transfer journalist reported via X (3 February) that Spurs have pulled out of the race for the defender, despite reaching an agreement with their London rivals over a potential loan deal.
As per Fabrizio Romano (3 February), Daniel Levy has already moved onto alternative targets and has seen a bid for Crystal Palace captain Marc Guehi rejected in the “last 48 hours”.
Tottenham will not sign Axel Disasi from Chelsea
Although the Frenchman is hardly a game-changing centre-back in the Premier League, it is yet another transfer rejection for Tottenham.
The Lilywhites are becoming a laughing stock in the winter transfer window as Disasi joins Randal Kolo Muani, Mathys Tel and Fikayo Tomori in rejecting a move to North London.
Levy has had the whole of January to provide Ange Postecoglou the recruits his depleted squad desperately needs and is now left scrambling in the final hours of the window.
Spurs have moved to bring in centre-back Kevin Danso on loan with an obligation to buy from Ligue 1 outfit Lens, but are still in dire straights with a Carabao Cup semi-final against Liverpool on the horizon.

Nevertheless, it is telling of just how far Tottenham have fallen to see Aston Villa, a side that has enjoyed a resurgence under Unai Emery, seen as a more desirable landing spot than North London.
Chelsea even preferred for the defender to remain in London, with the idea of not strengthening a potential rival for a top-four finish, yet Levy could still not convince Disasi to make the move.
This could be a painful Deadline Day for Spurs fans.
