Tottenham relegation chances shift again in latest supercomputer prediction after Wolves win
Tottenham Hotspur beat Wolves 1-0 on Saturday, but they may be doomed regardless of that result.
Roberto De Zerbi has been tasked with dragging Spurs out of the relegation zone, and he secured his first win at Molineux on 25 April.
Joao Palhinha came off the bench to score the only goal of the game in the 82nd minute, but it did not help the Lilywhites to get out of the relegation zone.
That was because West Ham secured a dramatic win over Everton, which kept them two points above the Lilywhites.
Tottenham and De Zerbi will be highly concerned about a new prediction that was made about the relegation battle.

What the supercomputer thinks about Tottenham’s relegation chances
Tottenham finally won a Premier League match, for the first time since December, a total of 118 days, but it has not exactly enhanced their standing.
The Opta Analyst supercomputer now gives them a 60.22 per cent chance of relegation, with the Hammers rated as having a 36.84 per cent likelihood.
That is a dramatic shift from the 44.90 chance of dropping to the Championship that De Zerbi’s side had before the results this weekend.
| Opta supercomputer latest prediction (25 April) | West Ham | Tottenham |
| Expected position | 17th | 18th |
| Expected points | 40.08 | 38.55 |
| Relegation chance (per cent) | 36.84% | 60.22% |
Why Tottenham can’t believe supercomputer prediction
De Zerbi and his players must not place much stock in the supercomputer’s latest verdict, as it changes on a weekly basis.
One victory could decrease their chances of relegation by a significant margin, depending on what Nuno Espirito Santo’s side do.
Tottenham firmly deserved their win against the Old Gold, as they had 59 per cent possession and created 11 shots, per Fotmob.
His side completed 400 passes to the hosts’ 232, and they also showed the heart required to be the drop, making 14 fouls in the contest.
If they can continue that, then they have every chance of defying the prediction and staying in the division.
Spurs have Aston Villa, Leeds United, Chelsea and Everton in their final four fixtures, so their task will not be easy, but there is an opportunity to develop momentum.
The supercomputer suggests that they may be doomed, but it may not be as bad as that, yet and there are signs that they can turn it around.
