View: The stats that reveal Solomon blow is actually a really significant one for Tottenham
Tottenham manager Ange Postecoglou has had plenty of success in his early tenure in the dugout in North London.
But the Spurs boss has a very difficult period ahead of him, with Manor Solomon now joining Ivan Perisic on the club’s growing injury list.
As per journalist Fabrizio Romano (4 October), the winger has been ruled out for two to three months with a meniscus injury suffered in training.
His fellow winger Perisic is currently out with an ACL injury, and while both players haven’t exactly been regular starters in the early stages of the season, Postecoglou definitely had plans for both to be involved in the first team to some degree.
However, those plans have now suffered a serious knock, with the blow to Solomon particularly frustrating as he was starting to shine in a Tottenham shirt.
In his most recent game, the 2-1 win against Liverpool on Saturday (30 September), the summer signing completed all of his 22 passes (100 per cent), as per SofaScore. He also won two of his three duels and made one tackle and one interception during his 21 minutes on the pitch.

More impressively, however, was the 24-year-old’s three key passes against Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool, with the winger having a really good impact from the bench.
That impact was also highlighted with his two out of two successful dribble attempts (Wyscout), with Solomon registering six touches in the Liverpool penalty area, level with starter Son Heung-min.
As seen on the SofaScore heatmap below, the Israel international had a lot of the ball in and around the edge of the Liverpool penalty area as the Londoners pushed for a winner – which they eventually got – while the substitute was on the pitch.

With no European football to contend with, Postecoglou may not need as big a squad as the likes of Manchester City, Manchester United or North London rivals Arsenal, but he will still be devastated to lose Solomon at this stage of the season.
In other Tottenham news, one player still has plenty to learn after a mixed performance in the 2-1 win against Liverpool.
