Tottenham’s Premier League relegation worries deepen in new supercomputer prediction

Tottenham will be nervously looking over their shoulder in the Premier League table after the midweek round of fixtures.

Spurs are currently 16th in the table, as they’ve failed to win a top-flight match in 2026.

Their last three points in the Premier League came in December against Crystal Palace, who Tottenham now face at home on Thursday.

Although Igor Tudor‘s side initially had a four-point cushion over their rivals at the bottom of the table, Wednesday’s results saw near enough the worst-case scenario unfold.

West Ham secured a 1-0 win away to Fulham, while Nottingham Forest snatched a 2-2 draw away to Man City, and that certainly hasn’t had the desired effect on Tottenham’s survival hopes.

Where are Tottenham now predicted to finish in Premier League?

While the results from West Ham and Forest’s games haven’t helped, Spurs only have themselves to blame.

Tottenham have won just one of their last 13 home games in the Premier League, beating Brentford 2-0 in December.

In their league history, it’s only the second time that Spurs have had just one win over a run of 13+ home games, after the 1993-94 season, when they won just one of their final 16.

Tottenham are also winless in their last 12 midweek (Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday) Premier League games since beating Brentford 3-2 in January 2024.

Opta’s predicted Premier League table

As it stands, as per Opta’s supercomputer, Tudor’s side are expected to finish 16th on 42 points, but a loss to Crystal Palace would be a huge blow to their top-flight status.

Spurs now have an 8.22 per cent chance of being relegated, which while it may still soon low, is now alarmingly rising.

The pre-match stats don’t bode well for the Lilywhites, and it’s up to the players to show some much-needed character at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

West Ham and Nottingham Forest will pose serious problems for Tottenham

In the last two seasons, the relegation battle in the Premier League hasn’t been particularly intense, with all three promoted sides returning to the Championship straight away.

However, this campaign has seen Sunderland steer clear, although while Leeds are sitting in 15th place, they are still in danger.

West Ham have been stuck in 18th place all season, but they have won 14 points from their last eight matches, slowly finding their feet under Nuno Espirito Santo.

Forest have just hired Vitor Pereira, who helped Wolves avoid relegation last year, and securing a point at the Etihad shows they’ll be a tough side to beat in their remaining games.

Van de Ven stats

On the other hand, Tottenham are in complete freefall, and Tudor will be under significant pressure if his side fails to win on Thursday.

To make matters worse, Spurs have lost six of their last seven home league London derbies, including four of their five this season.

As the unthinkable reality of relegation becomes increasingly likely, Tottenham will now start to feel uneasy as Forest and West Ham continue to improve as the season reaches its conclusion.
