Tottenham predicted XI v West Ham: Ange Postecoglou to axe Timo Werner

Tottenham will look to build on their win over Luton Town when they travel to the London Stadium to take on West Ham on Tuesday (2 April).

Son Heung-min scored a late winner as Spurs secured a 2-1 victory over the Hatters at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Saturday (30 March).

Ange Postecoglou’s side weren’t at their best and will need to show much more in their midweek London derby against the Hammers.

West Ham will be full of disappointment after they let a 3-1 lead slip away at Newcastle United, with the Magpies running out 4-3 winners at St James’ Park on Saturday (30 March).

Davis Moyes’ side will be keen to show a response in front of their own supporters, and Postecoglou will know that his players will need to be at 100 per cent if they are to return to North London with another three points.

And to give his side the best chance of victory, the Australian must ensure that he gets his team selection spot on, especially considering the quick turnaround after the Luton clash.

Ange Postecoglou to make three changes for Tottenham clash with West Ham

Guglielmo Vicario has started every Premier League game this season for Tottenham and will expect to do so once again at the London Stadium. The Italy international had to be switched on against Luton as he was required to make two saves and one punch out of the box (Sofascore).

Pedro Porro was solid defensively on Saturday, winning five of his six ground duels while also making three tackles, and he will need to find that form once again against West Ham with Postecoglou likely to name him in his starting lineup.

Destiny Udogie will also expect to start but will need to improve defensively on Tuesday after he was dribbled past once and won just four of his 11 ground duels against Rob Edwards’ side.

Cristian Romero is likely to keep his place after a near-flawless performance against Luton in which he won four of his five aerial duels, his one ground duel and completed 91 per cent of his passes.

Micky van de Ven was on the bench against the Hatters and could return against West Ham in place of Radu Dragusin.

Postecoglou could also change things in midfield after Yves Bissouma made yet another mistake against Luton and won just 50 per cent of his ground duels. Rodrigo Bentancur could be recalled to partner Pape Matar Sarr, who won 100 per cent of his aerial duels and made three interceptions against the Hatters.

James Maddison was hooked in the 68th minute on the weekend but will likely be handed the chance to make a bigger impact against Moyes’ men, with the Englishman failing to play a key pass or create a big chance against Luton.

Brennan Johnson could return to the Tottenham starting lineup against West Ham

Johnson was named on the bench against Luton but replaced Dejan Kulusevski at half-time after the Swede only managed to complete 67 per cent of his passes and win just three of his seven ground duels.

The Welshman made a big impact in the second half, forcing an own goal from Issa Kabore which levelled the contest, while also playing three key passes and winning 100 per cent of his ground duels.

He will likely come in to replace Timo Werner on the left after the German completed just 25 per cent of his dribbles and missed one big chance.

Kulusevski could therefore keep his place on the right, while Son will likely continue up front after scoring an 86th-minute winner.
