Ange Postecoglou to axe Mikey Moore – Tottenham predicted XI v Brentford

Ange Postecoglou could axe Mikey Moore when Tottenham take on Brentford in the Premier League.

Spurs will be looking for their first league win since mid-December at the Gtech Community Stadium on Sunday (2 February), with yet another player now ruled out ahead of the clash.

Postecoglou’s side secured automatic qualification for the next round of the UEFA Europa League with a 3-0 win over IF Elfsborg at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Thursday (30 January).

Therefore, the North London side will hope to build on this in their match with the Bees on Sunday, where Postecoglou could make three changes.

Brandon Austin didn’t have a single save to make against IF Elfsborg and will likely be replaced by Antonín Kinský against Brentford.

Micky van de Ven looked comfortable on his return to action – despite fans suggesting it was a “sackable offence” to start the Dutchman – winning 100 per cent of his aerial duels and completing 99 per cent of his passes [Sofascore] and will likely keep his place alongside Archie Gray in the heart of defence.

Pedro Porro also enjoyed himself on Thursday night, playing two key passes and winning four of his six ground duels, which means the Spaniard is likely to start once again at right-back, while Djed Spence could replace Ben Davies on the left as Postecoglou looks to bring some fresh legs into the side.

In midfield, Rodrigo Bentancur should keep his place alongside Pape Matar Sarr, with the former completing 97 per cent of his passes and winning 100 per cent of his aerial duels before being hooked at the break, while the latter played the full 90 minutes and completed 94 per cent of his passes, three of which were key.

With James Maddison sidelined, Lucas Bergvall will expect to keep his place in the midfield three, with the 18-year-old producing an assist and playing three key passes against opposition from his homeland.

Ange Postecoglou to axe Tottenham sensation Mikey Moore v Brentford

It was a night for the youngsters in North London as Moore, Dane Scarlett and Damola Ajayi all scored their first goals for Tottenham.

However, despite this, Moore is still likely to be benched, with Dejan Kulusevski in line to return after producing an assist off the bench against Elfsborg.

Meanwhile, Son Heung-min could keep his place after one of his best performances in months on Thursday as the South Korean forward succeeded with 10 of his 11 dribble attempts – an impressive total considering he only played the first half.
