Tottenham now resigned to permanent Mikey Moore exit after latest Rangers developments
Mikey Moore looks increasingly likely to leave Tottenham for good this summer.
With Tottenham in the midst of a relegation battle, almost all of the focus has been on their downfall over the last 12 months.
However, some attention needs to be saved for the performances of those currently playing away from North London, including Moore.
The teenager moved to Ibrox on loan until the end of the season, and after what happened in Rangers’ latest Old Firm draw against Celtic, Spurs may already be fearing his permanent exit.
Rangers look set to sign Mikey Moore permanently; stats show why
Moore will not come cheap for the Gers, but after his performance against Celtic, they will worry very little about the price required to make his stay at Ibrox a permanent one.
The teenager completed two of his three attempted dribbles, created two chances for the Gers, and won an impressive six defensive duels, with Chris Sutton labelling his display as “fantastic”.
However, this was far from his only impressive display in Scotland, as demonstrated by his Sofascore graphic below.
Moore has created 27 chances for the Gers in the Scottish Premiership, having already scored five goals and registered two assists.

But what is perhaps more important is that Moore is clearly enjoying his time on loan at Rangers, and that may have a big role to play when it comes to his future this summer.

Why would Moore return to Tottenham?
Moore has shown his quality before at Tottenham, and yet his place in the pecking order has never really budged, hence his loan move to Rangers.
And with Spurs being the laughing stock of English football, and almost certainly not going to take any risks next season, it would make almost no sense for Moore to return.
He simply won’t get the gametime he deserves, and every wrong decision will lead to plenty of criticism given the intense focus on Tottenham over the last 12 months.
In comparison, Moore is loved at Rangers, and the feeling is mutual, making a permanent exit make far too much sense for him to ignore if the option emerges.
Tottenham need to show a backbone when it comes to retaining their own talent, but this situation may prove to be one that is slowly taken out of their hands.
