Tottenham must make decision on Troy Parrott after ‘beautiful’ thing he did on Saturday
Ange Postecoglou has a decision to make on Tottenham striker Troy Parrott.
Spurs are keen on signing a new number nine ahead of next season.
However, the club already have a player of that profile within their ranks who seems to have become something of a forgotten man in North London.
Parrott has spent the season on loan with Excelsior Rotterdam in the Netherlands.
His temporary side finished third from bottom in the Eredivisie, which means they are currently competing in the relegation/promotion play-offs.
Looking to preserve their place in the top-flight of Dutch football, Excelsior took on ADO Den Haag across two legs this week, winning 9-2 on aggregate to book their place in the final of the play-offs.
Parrott’s side took a 2-1 lead into the second leg at their home stadium, Stadion Woudestein, and the 22-year-old proved influential in firing Excelsior to a comfortable 7-1 victory on Saturday (25 May).

Ange Postecoglou would have liked what he saw from Parrott on Saturday.
The striker netted a first-half hattrick, with one of his three finishes in particular standing out.
Parrott delightfully dinked the keeper in the opening three minutes, with Alasdair Gold describing the finish as a “beautiful goal” via his official X account (25 May).
However, as impressive as the finish was, Parrott’s overall display emphasised why some concerns might still exist over whether he is capable of cutting it in the Premier League.
As per Sofascore, the Republic of Ireland international did complete 80 per cent of his passes, with one of those key, but he also failed with his one dribble attempt.
In addition, he failed to win a single duel, losing all four on the ground and both in the air, while giving possession away eight times.
He also gave away one foul and was caught offside once, while registering just one interception from a defensive point of view.
While Parrott will be focused on ending his loan spell with Excelsior on a high, Postecoglou has some thinking to do over the forward’s future back at Hotspur Way.
