Tottenham: Michael Dawson wowed by 100% Guglielmo Vicario after ‘magnificent’ moment v Wolves

Tottenham suffered a massive blow to their Premier League top four hopes with a very disappointing defeat to Wolves.

Gary O’Neil’s side ran out 2-1 winners at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Saturday (17 February), with Joao Gomes netting a brace either side of Dejan Kulusevski’s goal for the hosts.

It definitely could have been worse for the hosts had it not been for goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario, who produced save after save as his defenders really let him down.

As per Sofascore, the number one made a huge five saves, one more than his opposite number Jose Sa. Moreover, the Tottenham star was successful with his only run-out (100%), while he also misplaced just one of his 31 passes, registering a pass success rate of 97%.

One of the keeper’s stops really caught the eye of ex-Tottenham man Michael Dawson, with the former defender blown away by a late first-half save from a Pablo Sarabia strike, although he did reference the offside in the move.

“Wolves are way on top,” Dawson said on Sky Sports Soccer Saturday (3.48pm, 17 February), as quoted by Sky Sports. “Sarabia’s offside but take nothing away from Vicario, it was a magnificent save.”
