Tottenham flop Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg leaves Roy Keane furious after what he did v Arsenal
Roy Keane was fuming with Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg after his performance let Tottenham and Ange Postecoglou down in the 3-2 defeat to Arsenal on 28 April.
The game got off to the worst possible start for the midfielder, who scored an own goal just 15 minutes in after cannoning Bukayo Saka’s corner past Guglielmo Vicario.
He was then wasteful in possession, despite Spurs’ 62 per cent dominance of the ball, and struggled to make an impact throughout before being dragged off after 64 minutes.
Speaking live on Sky Sports [28 April], Keane ranted: “Look at Hojbjerg there, just in the wrong position. For an experienced player, his starting position is all wrong. It’s a good delivery, delivered with pace, and he has gotten himself in the wrong position.”

Not only did his own goal get Postecoglou’s team off to a terrible start, putting them immediately on the back foot, but his overall performance in the game provided little to contribute to a performance in which Spurs looked the better side for large spells.
Completing just 59 of his 68 attempted passes at a success rate of just 87 per cent saw him give the ball away far too often, losing the ball 12 times overall, with a zero per cent accuracy from crosses and just four of seven attempted long balls finding their target, he was poor. [Sofascore]
On top of that, he won just one of three attempted aerial duels at a 33 per cent success rate, while he won five of his eight ground duels, giving away one foul in the process.
Hojbjerg was hooked after 64 minutes in favour of Yves Bissouma, who came on and completed 100 per cent of his passes, 100 per cent of his ground duels, made two tackles and lost possession just once, staking his claim to take his spot in the team.

Having let down Postecoglou and the Tottenham fans with his performance, while angering Keane in the process, Hojbjerg would be lucky to retain his place in the team when Spurs travel to Chelsea next time out with Bissouma hot on his heels.
