Radu Drăgușin concern emerges after what Alasdair Gold said about Tottenham ace

Tottenham have yet another injury concern after what Alasdair Gold said about Radu Drăgușin.

Ange Postecoglou would have been glad to welcome Micky van de Ven back in the 3-0 win against IF Elfsborg in the UEFA Europa League at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Thursday (30 January), despite some suggesting it was a “stackable offence” to start the Dutchman.

However, as has been the case in recent weeks in North London, it was one in and one out for Spurs.

After a relatively comfortable return to the team, van de Ven was hooked at the break, with Drăgușin replacing the 23-year-old. However, instead of seeing out the match, the centre-back became the latest resident at the Hotspur Way treatment room after he was forced off midway through the second half.

And based on what Alasdair Gold said about the injury, it doesn’t appear promising for the Romanian.

Ange Postecoglou has Radu Drăgușin concern at Tottenham

As per Gold via X (30 January), “Awkward moment for Radu Dragusin as he plants his leg down while falling and hurts his knee.

“He looked to be in a bit of pain. He looked like he was about to come back on but he did a jump on the sideline and felt something again.”

Based on Gold’s analysis, the injury doesn’t sound like a minor one, and Postecoglou will be fearing Drăgușin being sidelined for an extended period.

As per Sofascore, the 22-year-old only managed 19 touches after coming on, making one clearance and completing 81 per cent of his passes, while giving the ball away four times and failing to provide an accurate long ball from his one attempt.

However, despite not offering much after coming on, with the amount of players Spurs have out injured, Postecoglou needs everyone he can get.

Therefore, he will be keeping his fingers crossed that Drăgușin’s injury isn’t anything serious, even though it doesn’t look good.
