‘Postecoglou makes Destiny Udogie error’ – Tottenham confirmed XI v Bodo/Glimt
Ange Postecoglou has made six changes to his Tottenham side as they face Bodo/Glimt in the first leg of their Europa League semi-final on Thursday.
The Lilywhites will be keen to secure a positive result to take to Norway with them as they line up on 1 May at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
If this is going to be the case, the performance must be dramatically different to the 5-1 defeat against Liverpool last time out.
As a result, a raft of changes from Postecoglou doesn’t come as a surprise, but the decision to start/drop Destiny Udogie could be a mistake.

Tottenham confirmed XI v Bodo/Glimt
There were very few positives to take from Anfield as Guglielmo Vicario conceded five and made just two saves [FotMob], but is starting in the Europa League once again.
The Italian is set to be joined by a familiar back four with Cristian Romero and Micky van de Ven returning to the side after Kevin Danso and Ben Davies failed to win a single tackle between them at Anfield.
Changes have also come in the full-back area with Djed Spence dropping out after losing seven duels in his last outing. This has seen Pedro Porro come back into the side in North London.
The decision to stick with Udogie comes as a surprise after making an error leading to a goal while maintaining a zero per cent long ball success rate, summing up his performance on Merseyside.
Postecoglou isn’t messing around and as a result has made another double change with Lucas Bergvall and Archie Gray dropping out to welcome Rodrigo Bentancur and Yves Bissouma into the side in N17.
The forward line features one change with Mathys Tel dropping to the bench as Richarlison and Brennan Johnson start despite the latter’s failure to have a shot or complete a dribble for Spurs last time out.
Up front, Solanke is once again starting after netting against Liverpool with one of his three shots on goal throughout the 5-1 defeat.
Tottenham must win v Bodo/Glimt
There is nothing left for Spurs to play for in the Premier League now after what has been a terrible season in North London.
This leaves the Lilywhites sitting 16th in the table with no hope of rising up the table with four league games remaining.
Position | Club | Games played | Goal difference | Points |
15. | Everton | 34 | -7 | 38 |
16. | Tottenham | 34 | +6 | 37 |
17. | West Ham | 34 | -19 | 36 |
As a result, securing a positive result against Bodo/Glimt is necessary for Postecoglou as pressure from Daniel Levy continues to build.
It will be interesting to see how the Australian’s side live with the pressure against the Norwegian outfit with a Europa League place on the line.
