Postecoglou looks stupid after ‘dreadful’ Bissouma scenes in Fulham v Tottenham
Yves Bissouma does not deserve to play for Tottenham again after what happened against Fulham on Sunday.
Ange Postecoglou should take a big portion of the blame for Spurs’ 2-0 Premier League defeat at Craven Cottage on Sunday (16 March).
Despite some of the senior players, such as Dominic Solanke, letting Postecoglou down, the Australian made far too many changes for the London derby with Fulham.
As many as seven Spurs players made way after the 3-1 UEFA Europa League win over AZ Alkmaar at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Thursday (13 March).
This led many fans to question whether Postecoglou has given up on the Premier League.
And Bissouma’s performance in West London would suggest that some of the players certainly have.

Bissouma ‘dreadful’ for Tottenham v Fulham
Spurs’ players were all over the place against Fulham in a defeat which sees the club remain in a perilous position in the Premier League.
However, Bissouma in particular was abysmal.
Premier League 2024/25 | Position | Points |
Bournemouth | 10th | 44 |
Brentford | 11th | 41 |
Crystal Palace | 12th | 39 |
Tottenham | 13th | 34 |
Alasdair Gold wrote via X (16 March), “Bissouma has been dreadful in possession so far when Spurs have been moving up the pitch. Panicked passes, either too powerful, misplaced or putting team-mates under pressure.”
As per Sofascore, Bissouma completed just 82 per cent of his passes, and won just two of his six ground duels.
In addition, the midfielder lost the one aerial duel he contested and succeeded with zero per cent of his attempted dribbles. He also gave possession away six times and committed two fouls before Postecoglou had decided he had seen enough and hooked the Mali international at the break.
Bissouma should have been looking at this match with Fulham as an opportunity to prove himself to Postecoglou. However, instead, he made the 59-year-old’s decision to start him look stupid.

Bissouma can never play for Tottenham again
Bissouma could move on from Tottenham this summer.
Letting the 28-year-old leave the club would certainly be the right decision, and between now and the end of the season, the former Brighton star should be left in the reserves after his embarrassing performance against Fulham.
Bissouma has hardly covered himself in glory since moving to Tottenham, and his display on Sunday was a prime example of why it is time for the club to cut ties.
