Kevin Danso reveal highlights exactly why Thomas Frank sack at Tottenham is a serious possibility
Kevin Danso has been called into plenty of action this season as Tottenham continue to struggle under Thomas Frank.
Tottenham’s 2-1 loss to Fulham once again highlighted the abundance of problems that Frank must address if he wants to avoid being sacked before Christmas.
The result at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium leaves them in the bottom half of the Premier League table, and one win from seven at home in the league has certainly added pressure on the Danish manager.
Frank is under intense scrutiny, and he could be heading for the exit door if he doesn’t improve Tottenham’s issues at the back.
Danso has started five league matches under Frank, and he leads the way for a defensive stat that shows exactly why Spurs fans want Frank sacked.

Kevin Danso has the most clearances per 90 in the Premier League
One of the key reasons Ange Postecoglou was sacked was because he failed to adapt his tactics to make Spurs more defensively solid.
However, Frank is experiencing the same issues, with Tottenham winning only one game at home in the league this season, and fans are already calling for him to be dismissed.
According to FotMob, Danso has made 9.2 clearances per 90 minutes – the highest total of any Premier League player in 2025-26.
| Stat | Kevin Danso |
| Appearances (starts) | 9 (5) |
| Minutes played | 393 |
| Clearances per 90 | 9.2 |
| Tackles | 7 |
| Blocks | 3 |
The Austrian defender has been a useful asset, with his long throws becoming incredibly valuable for Frank.
However, he made zero accurate crosses (0/2) and completed no accurate long balls (0/5) in the defeat to Fulham.
Danso leads the way for clearances per 90 due to Tottenham’s inability to control games, and Frank will need to find a way of being more effective in possession.
Despite the fact that it’s positive for Danso, no Tottenham fan will want to see their player at the top of that particular stat, and it shows why Frank is under so much pressure.
Spurs have relied on crosses to create the majority of their chances this season, and their game plan against Fulham seemed to rely on Pedro Porro whipping in deliveries for Randal Kolo Muani and Richarlison to attack.
Tottenham look incredibly uncomfortable in possession
According to Squawka, Tottenham are the first side to attempt 16+ open play crosses in the first half of a Premier League game without any of them finding a teammate since October 2022 (18).
Spurs have registered less than 0.2 xG in the first half of four of their matches, and they’re finding themselves on the back foot far too often at the start of games.
Frank has chopped and changed his midfield countless times, and Joao Palhinha has been the only mainstay in the starting lineup.
This adds a great deal of unease to the backline, and Frank’s tactics will have to improve immediately if he wants to save his job.
