Igor Tudor set to achieve two-year first as supercomputer makes Tottenham vs Crystal Palace prediction

Igor Tudor will be desperate for his first win as Tottenham head coach when they host Crystal Palace on Thursday.

Tottenham’s 2-1 loss to Fulham last Sunday has left them four points clear of the drop zone with 10 games to go, and fans around N17 are becoming increasingly worried about their long-term future in the top flight.

Although relegation may seem unthinkable, a loss to Palace would not only make matters worse, but it would also heap the pressure on Tudor after just three games in charge.

With the clash against their London rivals looming, it is imperative that they learn from their mistakes against Fulham and secure all three points at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Supercomputer predicts Tottenham to win vs Crystal Palace

The visitors most recently lost 2-1 to Man United at Old Trafford, although they felt hard done by when they were reduced to 10 men in the second half.

Oliver Glasner’s side currently sit 14th in the Premier League table, and a win against Spurs would ensure that they are basically safe from relegation.

However, according to Opta, Tottenham are the comfortable favourites for Thursday’s clash.

Tottenham are winless in their last 12 midweek (Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday) Premier League games since beating Brentford 3-2 in January 2024.

However, they could be set to end this dismal record against a side that has gotten the better of them in recent meetings.

After nine consecutive away league defeats at Tottenham between 2015-16 and 2023-24, Crystal Palace won this exact fixture 2-0 last season.

However, Glasner’s side have never won consecutive away league games against Spurs, meaning they could create their own piece of history.

How has Igor Tudor fared in his previous meetings with Oliver Glasner?

Both managers have extensive experience across Europe, but unfortunately for Tudor, he has never gotten the better of Palace’s manager.

Glasner has won both of his previous meetings with Tudor, with his Eintracht Frankfurt side winning home and away against Tudor’s Marseille in the 2022-23 Champions League group stage.

Although it has been confirmed that neither manager will be at their respective clubs once the season has concluded, the Austrian head coach has a much higher pedigree, with the FA Cup and Europa League on his CV.

Palace will be a very tough test for the Lilywhites, and it’s clear that Tudor will have to learn from his past mistakes if he wants to avoid even more scrutiny at Tottenham.
