Dejan Kulusevski must do more for Tottenham despite ‘lovely’ moment v Sheffield United
Ange Postecoglou will demand more from Tottenham ace Dejan Kulusevski despite his brace against Sheffield United.
Spurs ended the 2023/24 season on a high note with a 3-0 win at Bramall Lane (19 May).
Having lost five of their previous six matches heading into the clash, it was the perfect way for Postecoglou to bring to a close his debut season in charge of Tottenham.
The three points ensured a fifth-place finish for Spurs which means they will be competing in next season’s UEFA Europa League.
Kulusevski got the visitors off to the perfect start in the 15th minute, with Pedro Porro’s stunner putting Tottenham in control midway through the second half, before the Swede wrapped up proceedings with his second of the afternoon.
And Alasdair Gold was particularly impressed by Kulusevski’s opener, writing via X (19 May), “Lovely finish that from Dejan Kulusevski.”
However, despite his two goals, Postecoglou will demand more from the forward next season.

Kulusevski’s goals against the Blades were his first in three months, demonstarting that he needs to improve his output next season.
And despite the two strikes on Sunday, the 24-year-old did very little else to impress.
As per Sofascore, the Sweden international completed just 83 per cent of his passes with only one of them key.
In addition, he won just two of his seven ground duels and completed zero per cent of his dribbles, while also giving possession away nine times.
If not for his goals then Spurs supporters would have been talking about a very different Kulusevski performance against an already-relegated team.
He might have done enough against the Blades, but Kulusevski will need to show much more next season.
